Have you added your video into?

Hello Teachers,

Have you added a video profile to your teaching site? We're finding more and more now that students are more likely to contact a teacher if they've seen their face and heard their voice. A quick introduction will give potential students the chance to see this and will hopefully then be more likely to get in touch with you to arrange a lesson.

Add a video profile and start teaching more students in Japan today, through orangutanenglish.com

Good luck!

Using the news when teaching higher level students

Using the news to teach high level students in Japan

Struggling to come up with something interesting for your English Language Lesson in Japan? Why not use the news. It's current, topical and will have a good range of vocabulary that higher level students should be comfortable with. Here's an example...

Remember, more teachers are likely to contact you for a language lesson if you keep your profile up to date, have a professional photograph and a video introduction.

Good luck teaching students in Japan.

If you're teaching English to students in Japan and are worried your lessons are becoming a little bit flat, then why not steer the lesson towards something that interests them, or interests you or preferably both.

Short dialogues from movies can be studied in lessons or can at least be used to introduce vocabulary and grammar. For example, a lesson on asking questions about how one feeling could be introduced with this classic....

Great Result for the Yokohama Marinos

Well done to the Marinos for a 3-2 win over the English Champions in Yokohama.

Although not too much should be read into pre-match friendlies, I can't help worrying a little bit for David Moyes. If Man Utd lose a couple of matches they would expect to win under Ferguson and Man Utd find themselves outwith the top four a couple of months into the season, then Moyes will find himself under severe pressure. I wouldn't be too surprised if he's out within the year.
